WWE may be preparing to introduce new talent — or rebrand current stars — after filing trademarks for three fresh ring names with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
According to new filings made today, WWE has officially applied to trademark the names C.J. Valor, Romeo Moreno, and Santi Rivera. As is typically the case, WWE secures ring names legally before they appear on television, either for incoming talent or for wrestlers set to receive a name change. The company included its standard description for professional wrestling trademarks in the filings:
While WWE hasn’t revealed who these names belong to, history suggests at least one could be tied to an NXT prospect or a Performance Center recruit waiting in the wings.
This follows earlier filings this week for Dorian Van Dux and Tristan Angels. Tristan Angels has already been confirmed as the new ring name for NXT’s Nathaniel Cranton, previously known as Nathan Angel.
With multiple trademarks landing in the same week, it’s clear WWE is actively shaping the next wave of talent. Whether these names debut in NXT first or appear as surprise additions elsewhere remains to be seen.
Which of these new WWE ring names stands out to you the most — and do you think they’re destined for NXT or the main roster? Drop your thoughts below.
