Naomi was pulled from her Women’s Title match on the August 11th edition of Raw after she was not medically cleared to compete. However, it seems WWE has kept talent in the dark when it came to the reason for her getting pulled from the match.
According to PWInsider Elite, Naomi was backstage at Monday Night Raw in Quebec earlier in the day, so her match being canceled was not because she missed the taping. The reason for the change was kept very quiet, even from other wrestlers.
After Naomi was pulled from Raw due to not being medically cleared, Sean Ross Sapp said he was told the situation is legitimate. He explained that WWE had planned a big world title match for her, making it especially unfortunate that she got hurt.
“I was told it’s legit, whatever it is. Now, I understand that this week WWE got screwed because they had planned on a big world title match with Naomi, and that’s unfortunate that she got hurt — that sucks.”
Later during Monday Night Raw, a segment between SKY and Stephanie Vaquer suggested that Naomi could be sidelined for weeks, so her title defense against Vaquer at the upcoming Clash in Paris Premium Live could be in danger.
Naomi’s injury comes at an important time for WWE’s Women’s Division, and her time away could change a lot of things leading into Clash in Paris. If she can’t wrestle WWE might either delay her match or take the title from her, so we’ll have to wait and see what happens with her in the end.
Should WWE postpone Naomi’s title match at Clash in Paris or should they strip her of the title? Sound off in the comments.
