WWE is switching things up heading into WrestleMania 42 by keeping the creative process more open-ended than in previous years.
Instead of mapping out every main event story in advance, the company is choosing to stay flexible and allow new ideas to form as they approach each major milestone.
According to Bodyslam.net, WWE made the decision to crown Drew McIntyre just hours before the Three Stages of Hell match, and that move wasn’t random. It was part of a larger creative strategy — one that opens the door for several storyline directions leading into the Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, and eventually WrestleMania. With McIntyre now holding the Undisputed WWE Championship, the road ahead is intentionally unpredictable, giving the company room to adjust based on momentum, reactions, and returns.
It’s a fresh way of approaching WrestleMania season, but one that could either create magic or chaos depending on how it’s executed.
