WWE Superstars can go through many different personas during their time in the company. Maxxine Dupri has certainly enjoyed a turn into the serious realm, and as Women’s United States Champion, she wants to be taken seriously. That attention has turned some heads backstage in the company.
Sean Ross Sapp reported on Fightful Select that a recent series of vignettes has made a strong impression within WWE and with fans. There were the ones that aired for weeks leading up to Dupri’s return to WWE television.
The vignettes have aired on WWE Raw over the past several weeks and feature Intercontinental Champion Maxxine Dupri alongside her tag team partner, Natalya, as the Queen of Harts put her through the ringer.
The segments are presented as montage-style videos that focus on highlighting Dupri’s growth and improvement inside the ring. This has apparently hit home with some people backstage, and it did Maxxine Dupri some serious favors backstage.
According to the report, WWE Director of Character Development Rob Fee was responsible for shooting the vignettes. Of course, we all know Rob Fee as the man that WWE brought in to work with Bray Wyatt’s Firefly Fun House, and he’s still around to leave his fingerprints on the product.
It was also noted there has been positive internal feedback for Maxxine Dupri’s recent work. One of the male talent reportedly said that many people were glad to see WWE investing in both performers, who are well respected by their peers on a personal level.
