Survivor Series has always been a pivotal stop in WWE’s calendar, but in recent years, it’s become more than just brand warfare — it’s the unofficial kickoff to the Road to WrestleMania. And with November acting like the moment it becomes socially acceptable to throw on Christmas sweaters (unless you’re Mick Foley), it’s no surprise WWE is setting the stage for long-term storylines.

One match that’s quietly gaining traction? Team Angle vs. Team Corbin — a Raw-exclusive clash that could lead to something even bigger down the road.

According to WrestleVotes, WWE is still finalizing the lineups for each team, but expect the usual dynamic: babyfaces rallying behind Kurt Angle while the heels fall in line behind Baron Corbin, aka The Lone Wolf. Stakes could be high — possibly with the Raw GM role on the line.

“WWE is still putting together the teams for Team Corbin vs Team Angle at Survivor Series,” WrestleVotes noted.

This kind of match could be more than just another traditional Survivor Series bout. With Corbin previously taking Angle’s on-screen job, the slow burn between the two has WrestleMania potential — especially if Vince McMahon sees Corbin as a long-term player, as has been hinted in the past.

Survivor Series wasn’t initially expected to feature a Raw vs. SmackDown theme this year. But Roman Reigns’ sudden hiatus reportedly changed creative direction, possibly forcing WWE to pivot. Still, Team Angle vs. Team Corbin appears to be one of the few storylines that’s remained intact through the shakeup.

This could be the sleeper match to watch — especially if WWE uses it to plant seeds for a long-awaited one-on-one Angle vs. Corbin collision down the line.

If the GM job is truly up for grabs, that only adds more fuel to the fire.

This Survivor Series might just be the start of something a lot bigger — and you know WWE loves slow-burn revenge stories when WrestleMania season looms.
