WWE Star Returned in Backstage Segment Many Might Have Missed on 11/22 SmackDown

The November 22nd edition of Friday Night SmackDown took place in Utah, Salt Lake City with an interesting development that went unnoticed during a backstage segment as an absent SmackDown star made his return after an extended absence.

Following the heated war of words between the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and his formidable rival Kevin Owens, Rhodes was seen crossing the backstage area in anger. He passed by Carmelo Hayes, who made a remark against the champion that did not sit well with him, leading to both men almost coming to blows before being separated by the officials.

However, the intriguing detail here was the return of Giovanni Vinci, who was seen talking to Carmelo Hayes right before his heated exchange with The American Nightmare broke out backstage.

The former Imperium member, who had been repackaged with a new ‘dress-to-impress’ character, re-debuted a few months back on SmackDown. However, his new tenure failed to impress the audience with quick back-to-back squash match losses against Apollo Crews in embarrassing fashion.

With Giovanni Vinci making his first appearance on WWE television after a failed comeback, we will have to wait and see if he will be in line for a major push on the blue brand in the coming months.
