The September 5, 2025, episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown had a ton of great things going for it. This included AJ Lee making her shocking return after more than a decade. Unsurprisingly, the show saw a massive increase in viewership as well.
According to Wrestlenomics, the September 5th episode on USA Network averaged 1.585 million viewers. This marks a 38.2% increase over the 1.147 million viewers from the August 29 episode.
In the key P18–49 demographic, SmackDown earned a 0.51 rating, up significantly from 0.28 the week prior — a 82.1% increase.
This week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown featured a lot of memorable moments and that included AJ Lee making her shocking return as she took out Becky Lynch and celebrated with CM Punk in the ring.
Brock Lesnar also came back and brutally attacked John Cena and ruined his shot at the WWE United States Title. This and many other moments took place throughout the night.
