The September 12, 2025, episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown had a ton of great things going for it. This included Cody Rhodes returning to take out Drew McIntyre and build up their feud. However, it seems this show saw a decrease in viewership.
According to Wrestlenomics, the September 12, 2025 episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown on USA Network averaged 1.316 million viewers, marking a 16.9% decrease from the 1.585 million viewers the show drew on September 5, 2025.
In the key P18–49 demographic, SmackDown earned a 0.37 rating, which is down 27.5% from last week’s 0.51 rating. Despite major storyline developments, the numbers reflect a significant week-to-week drop.

This week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown featured a lot of memorable moments and that included Cody Rhodes returning and attacking Drew McIntyre, as he set up their match at WWE Wrestlepalooza.
Sami Zayn also had a solid match against Rey Fenix as he ended up retaining his WWE United States Championship. This and many other moments took place throughout the night.
