The October 17, 2025 episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown had several memorable moments and that included Ilja Dragunov making his shocking return after over a year. In fact, the show actually saw an increase in viewership as well.

According to Programming Insider, WWE SmackDown averaged 1.180 million viewers on USA Network, up from 1.024 million the week prior on October 10, 2025. In the key P18–49 demographic, the show drew a 0.28 rating, a strong rise from last week’s 0.22.

This week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown featured a lot of memorable moments and that included Ilja Dragunov making his shocking return in over a year and immediately defeating Sami Zayn in order to become the new WWE United States Champion.

Jacob Fatu was also written off WWE television before his scheduled match against Drew McIntyre. This and many other moments took place throughout the night.
