The May 2, 2025 episode of WWE SmackDown delivered another packed night on the USA Network, continuing the push toward WWE Backlash. While the show featured major developments—including the in-ring return of Aleister Black—it faced stiff competition from the NBA Playoffs, resulting in a notable ratings dip.

According to Programming Insider, SmackDown drew 1.406 million viewers, a significant drop from the 1.599 million viewers on April 25. In the 18–49 demographic, the show posted a 0.37 rating, down from last week’s 0.51.

This marks one of SmackDown’s lowest totals of 2025, largely impacted by a massive NBA Playoff matchup between the Houston Rockets and Golden State Warriors, which drew 4.6 million viewers and a 1.40 demo rating on ESPN.
