The July 18, 2025, episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown brought in a strong audience thanks to a loaded card, highlighted by a wild contract signing between Cody Rhodes and John Cena that stole the show.

According to Programming Insider, the episode averaged 1.546 million viewers on the USA Network, a noticeable increase from the 1.399 million viewers the show drew on July 11.

In the P18–49 key demographic, SmackDown posted a 0.45 rating, up from last week’s 0.37. The show also delivered a 0.85 household rating, with a range of 1.063 to 1.075 million households, and scored a 0.60 rating in the A25–54 demo, up from last week’s 0.50.

This week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown featured a lot of memorable moments and that included Cody Rhodes destroying John Cena in their contract signing segment, as Cena will now defend the Undisputed WWE Championship in a Street Fight at SummerSlam next month.

Solo Sikoa was also arrested by police during the show and it will lead to Sikoa defending his WWE United States Championship against Jacob Fatu at SummerSlam in a steel cage match.
