WWE taped the January 9, 2025 episode of WWE SmackDown in Uber Arena in Berlin, Germany. Below are the spoiler results from the show.
SmackDown kicks off with Drew McIntyre arriving at the arena, followed by Cody Rhodes. Carmelo Hayes is shown entering with the United States Title over his shoulder. Alexa Bliss is seen backstage, looking down at her phone. The announcers go over tonight’s lineup.
Randy Orton’s music hits as he walks to the ring, with the crowd singing along to his theme.

Randy says it feels great to be back in the ring and welcomes the people of Berlin to SmackDown. As Randy begins to speak, Trick Williams’ music hits, and the crowd starts chanting “Whoop That Trick.” Trick Williams steps into the ring and says everyone claims each new year is their year—but he wants to keep it real. He says a new star has officially arrived, and his name is Trick Williams. Trick adds that while he’s not sure about Germany just yet, every other country loves some Trick Willy. He says he’s 6’5″, 250 pounds, and tells Randy to do the math. “This isn’t 2006,” Trick says. “It’s 2026. Let’s talk about it.”
Randy looks around and replies, asking Trick if he really wants to talk about it. He says he’s 6’5″ and weighs 270 pounds—but the only number that matters is 14, because that’s how many world titles he’s won. Randy admits Trick looks like a star and carries himself with confidence, but warns him: “You chose to interrupt me… and I don’t know if you’ve got the brains.”
Trick fires back, saying he’s being real. He calls Randy one of the best and thanks him for the kind words. But Trick says he’s here to brush up against one of the greatest and steal the spotlight. He respects Randy—but he came to Berlin to put him on notice. “This is the year of Trick Williams,” he declares, before striking a pose.
Randy responds coldly: “I don’t know what they teach you in NXT, but you don’t turn your back on me. I’ll let it slide this time—but do it again, and you won’t be whooping that trick… I’ll be kicking your ass.”
Trick slaps the mic out of Randy’s hand—but Randy quickly fires back with a punch, an uppercut, and drops him with a hanging DDT.
Suddenly, The Miz runs in and attacks Randy from behind with stomps and strikes. He goes for the Skull Crushing Finale—but Randy counters and lays him out with a massive RKO.
As Randy heads up the aisle, the lights dim and Rey Fenix makes his entrance. The two meet halfway on the ramp, exchange a fist bump, and Randy leans in to say something to Rey before continuing to the back. Rey then heads toward the ring.
Trick and Rey lock up, and Trick shoves Rey away, then poses. They lock up again, and Trick pushes him back a second time. They exchange words before Trick pulls Rey down by the mask. Rey goes for a hip toss, but Trick blocks it. Rey lands on his feet and rolls Trick up for a near fall. Trick counters with a crucifix pin for another near fall. Rey hits a sunset flip for two. Trick breaks a waist lock and lands a shoulder tackle.
Rey hits a forearm, Trick answers with a chop and a hard Irish whip into the corner. Trick hits more chops and whips Rey again, but Rey bounces off the ropes and lands a shoulder. Rey grabs a wrist lock and tries a springboard move, but Trick moves. Rey hits a springboard dropkick, sending Trick to the floor. Rey fakes a dive and hangs in the ropes.
Back inside, Trick nails a jumping side kick for a near fall, then lands a kick to the body. He hits a tilt-a-whirl slam and a Falcon Arrow for another two-count. Trick throws Rey outside and follows up by whipping him into the ring post and steps. Trick chops Rey as the fight continues.
Trick whips Rey into the steel steps, then rolls him back into the ring. He follows with another Irish whip and a corner kick, sending Rey rolling to the floor. Rey climbs back onto the apron, but Trick kicks him. Trick then hits a spinning back heel kick for a near fall and follows with punches.
Rey fires back with chops, Trick responds with a kick. They trade strikes—Rey with a chop, Trick with a punch. Trick goes for a suplex, but Rey counters with a knee and rolls him up for a near fall. Rey delivers a series of kicks that drop Trick to the mat. They trade shots again—Rey with forearms, Trick with punches—until Trick hits a pop-up uppercut for a close two-count.
Trick lands a knee to Rey’s midsection and whips him into the corner, but Rey comes back with a thrust kick. Rey goes for a rolling move, but Trick catches him on his shoulders. Rey elbows his way free and lands a kick in the corner, then a chop before placing Trick on the turnbuckles. Rey sets up for a rana, Trick tries to block with a super uranage, but Rey escapes with more elbows and hits a big super rana for another near fall.
Rey climbs to the top and goes for a moonsault, but Trick gets his feet up. Trick follows with a cyclone kick for a near fall, then hits a uranage for another close two-count. Trick charges the corner but misses, and Rey counters with a springboard back heel kick and a flurry of strikes. Rey hits a tornado reverse DDT for a near fall.
Rey lands a scorpion kick, then follows with his running top rope kick. He heads back up the turnbuckles, but Trick catches him. Rey quickly shifts into a victory roll for a near fall. Trick reverses the pin, grabs a handful of tights, and steals the win.
Winner: Trick Williams
Backstage, Byron Saxton is with Giulia and Kiana James. Byron asks what last week’s win means to them.Giulia says the title is back where it belongs. Kiana adds that Giulia is an asset with untapped potential.Giulia then warns that tonight, she’ll make an example out of Alexa Bliss—a former champion and women’s division legend—as they walk off.

Back from the break, we get a recap of last week’s brutal Ambulance Match between Damian Priest and Aleister Black.
Backstage, Byron Saxton is with Damian Priest and asks how he’s feeling and what’s next for 2026. Priest says he’s definitely hurting. He’s won some battles, lost some—but he won the war. He says he’s seen people calling their shot for the title, and now he’s putting his name in the mix too.
Drew McIntyre walks in. Priest acknowledges how dangerous Drew is and says that if Drew becomes champion tonight, maybe they go another round. Priest reminds Drew to tell everyone what happened the last time they faced off.
Byron then turns to Drew and asks for his thoughts on tonight. Drew says emotions are running high—but not his. He says it’s Cody whose emotions are out of control. Drew recalls the look on Cody’s face when he burned the photo of Dusty and Cody together. Then Drew reveals a watch and says it once belonged to Dusty Rhodes—the same one Dusty pawned to help fund Cody’s future. Drew warns that Cody will get himself disqualified in the first fall, and all Drew will need is one more to finally become WWE Champion. He finishes with a cold, maniacal laugh.
Elsewhere, Alexa Bliss is backstage on the phone with Charlotte Flair. She says she didn’t know about the match until today and tells Charlotte to focus on recovering.
Nia Jax and Lash Legend walk up and mock her, asking if Charlotte has the sniffles. Lash calls it “convenient” that Charlotte is suddenly sick. Alexa fires back, saying they don’t know what they’re talking about, and heads to the ring.
Giulia gets in Alexa’s face and talks some trash before shoving her. Alexa shoves her right back, but Giulia pushes again. Alexa grabs a side headlock, but Giulia yanks her by the hair and delivers a suplex. Giulia follows with a running hip attack in the corner, then climbs the turnbuckles and hits a missile dropkick for a near fall. She nails a headbutt and throws Alexa across the ring by the hair.
Giulia charges again, but Alexa dodges and sends her to the outside. Alexa follows up with a cannonball off the apron, crashing onto Giulia on the floor. Alexa sends Giulia back into the ring, but Kiana James trips Alexa from the outside and sets her up for a hanging neckbreaker off the apron to the floor. Giulia follows up with a kick to Alexa’s back before returning to the ring. Kiana steps on Alexa’s hair while the ref is distracted.
Alexa gets back in the ring, but Giulia greets her with a kick. Giulia stands on Alexa in the ropes, stretches her out, then hits a dropkick to her back while she’s still hanging there. She covers Alexa for a near fall. Giulia follows with a body slam and scores two more near falls.
Alexa fights back with a roll-up for a two-count. Giulia chokes her in the corner, then in the ropes. While the ref is distracted, Kiana sneaks in a forearm to Alexa. Alexa responds with a back elbow and a kick, then fires off a series of forearms. Giulia lands a forearm of her own, but runs into Alexa’s boot.
Alexa builds momentum with shoulder tackles, a combo of strikes, and a dropkick. She hits a blockbuster for a near fall. Giulia lands a headbutt, but Alexa fires back with an STO and a double knee drop—though she misses the follow-up flip senton. Giulia hits a knee to the head for a near fall.
Giulia sets up for the Northern Lights Bomb, but Alexa escapes and gets ready for Sister Abigail. She lets go when Kiana enters the ring. Alexa drops Giulia with a DDT, then punches Kiana. Suddenly, Lash Legend pushes Alexa off the turnbuckles, and Giulia hits the Northern Lights Bomb for the three-count.
Winner: Giulia (still SmackDown Women’s Champion)
After the match, Nia Jax and Lash Legend enter the ring. Nia calls Alexa a loser and lifts her up, tossing her to Lash for a punch. Lash drags Alexa to the corner and sets her up for the aNIAlator. Nia follows by sitting on top of Alexa.
Backstage, SmackDown GM Nick Aldis congratulates Jordynne Grace on officially signing with SmackDown. Chelsea Green storms in, upset that she still hasn’t received her rematch. Nick tells her to calm down and asks her to welcome Jordynne to the brand. Chelsea says she wants her re-re-rematch. Jordynne responds by saying she’s not here to act like a diva, and Alba Fyre chimes in, warning Jordynne to carry herself the right way. Nick announces that Alba will be Jordynne’s next opponent.
Kit Wilson appears and complains that he chipped a tooth last week, calling Matt Cardona “the embodiment of toxic masculinity.” Nick tells Kit to give him a second and shuts the door.
Byron Saxton is backstage with Matt Cardona.
Byron asks how it feels to be back. Matt says it’s been almost six years and it feels amazing. He says he had three choices:
He chose option 3. Matt then walks over to Cody Rhodes and says he’s not back just to show up—he’s back to win the title. Cody replies that once he’s done with Drew McIntyre, they can talk.
We get a quick recap of the problems between The Wyatts and The Solos. The tension is getting worse.
Loa and Dexter Lumis start things off. Loa hits a side headlock and a shoulder tackle, but Lumis answers with a shoulder tackle and a dropkick. Gacy tags in, and after a reverse atomic drop from Lumis, Gacy follows with a clothesline. Lumis hits a back senton, and Gacy adds a kick. Together, they force Tama Tonga to the floor. Gacy and Lumis hit suicide dives on both opponents. As both teams stare each other down on the outside, JC and Nikki get involved, adding more tension.
Back in the ring, Gacy boots Loa and knocks Tama off the apron. Talla then hits Gacy with a clothesline. Gacy gets sent into the turnbuckles and takes a kick. Tama tags in, and Loa hits a forearm. They double-team Gacy in the corner—Tama whips him in, Loa hits a clothesline, Tama follows with a splash, then Loa adds another clothesline and Tama finishes with a back senton.
Tama hits Gacy with punches and shoulder thrusts in the corner. Talla tags in and delivers a corner clothesline, followed by an uppercut. He adds a forearm, a back elbow, and then drops an elbow on Gacy.
Solo tags in next. He taunts Gacy, acting like he’s letting him tag out—but instead hits Gacy in the back and follows with a headbutt. Gacy tries to fight back with punches, but Solo lands a big shot of his own and then hits a hard Irish whip into the corner.
Solo hits Gacy with a headbutt and follows with punches in the corner. The referee warns him, but Solo keeps swinging. He sets up and lands a running hip attack in the corner. Solo then knocks Lumis and Uncle Howdy off the apron.
Tama tags in and hits Gacy with double axe handles to the back. He growls, but Gacy fights back with punches. Tama grabs a waist lock to stop the tag, but Gacy breaks free with a handspring clothesline and tags in Rowan. Rowan storms in, landing punches on everyone. He hits a spinning back heel kick on Tama, then an elbow to Loa. Rowan drops both Tama and Loa with clotheslines, then follows with a dropkick to Loa.
Tama and Rowan run into each other with simultaneous cross bodies. Talla enters and trades punches with Rowan. Rowan lands some kicks, but Talla hits a headbutt to take control. Rowan fires back with a clothesline.
Rowan lifts Talla onto his shoulders, but Talla slips out and hits a clothesline. Talla follows with a kick to Gacy, then grabs Lumis by the throat and delivers a chokeslam. Rowan and Talla charge each other and land clotheslines at the same time—both men crash to the mat, down and out. Solo and Uncle Howdy tag in and start trading punches. Howdy hits a flying forearm and a couple of clotheslines. Solo comes back with a thrust kick, but Howdy counters the Samoan Spike with a uranage. Howdy sets up for Sister Abigail, but Solo slips away.
Tama tags in, but Howdy drops him with another uranage. Then, Howdy pulls Mateo into the ring and locks in the Mandible Claw. Solo grabs the lantern, and Howdy releases the hold. As Howdy goes for Sister Abigail again, Talla sneaks in a kick. Tama takes advantage and hits Cutthroat for the three-count.
Winners: Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Talla Tonga
After the match, The Solos take possession of the lantern.
The Miz stops Carmelo Hayes in the hallway and tells him that if he accepts Hayes’ open challenge, he’ll become a three-time Grand Slam Champion. Hayes responds, “I’ll see you in the ring.” Miz claims he can’t move his neck after what Randy Orton did earlier. Hayes smirks and says, “I’ll see you next week,” then adds Randy’s name—causing Miz to quickly turn his head, proving his neck is just fine. Ilja Dragunov then walks up and tells Hayes he’s a man of his word. He says it would be an honor to face Hayes agai Ilja adds that their rematch will happen in time, but for now, he’s going to talk to Nick Aldis about something else.

Grace ducks a clothesline and hits a forearm and some punches. She backs Alba into the corner multiple times, then hits a series of clotheslines followed by a tilt-a-whirl dominator. Grace blocks a kick and slaps Alba.
Alba responds with a back heel kick and hits a tornado DDT for a near fall. She follows with some kicks and throws Grace into the turnbuckles. Alba tries for a suplex, but Grace blocks it. Grace goes for one of her own, but Alba escapes. Grace counters again, floats over, and lands a spinebuster.
Grace follows with a package powerbomb. Chelsea Green jumps on the apron, distracting her. Grace refocuses and sends Alba into Green. She finishes the match with a torture rack powerbomb for the three-count.
Winner: Jordynne Grace
As Jordynne Grace heads up the aisle, Jade Cargill’s music hits. Jade walks right past her, then circles around with purpose. Jade looks at Grace and says, “You think you did something? You think you’re special? You’re on my show… and I’m that bitch.” Jade drops the mic and heads to the back, leaving Grace standing in the aisle.
Backstage, Byron Saxton is with Sami Zayn. Byron asks who Sami thinks will win tonight’s title match. Sami says part of him hopes Drew wins, because Drew is one of the few people he’s never beaten. The thought of finally beating him for the title is tempting. But deep down, he’s rooting for Cody—because Cody’s a good guy and a great champion. He says it’s all about testing yourself against the best. As for who walks out champion? Sami says his money’s on Cody—and whoever it is, they need to know that he’ll be waiting.
Backstage, Nathan Frazer is seen talking to who he thinks is Axiom about the open challenge. But suddenly, the masked man attacks Frazer—revealing himself to be Johnny Gargano. Right after the attack, the real Axiom shows up and checks on Frazer.
They lock up and Nakamura applies a waist lock, then switches to a headscissors. Hayes escapes, and they reset. They lock up again, and this time Hayes takes Nakamura down into an armbar.
Nakamura fights back with punches, but Hayes answers with a dropkick, sending Nakamura to the floor. Hayes goes for a dive, but Nakamura cuts him off with a kick. Hayes quickly recovers and hits a springboard forearm.
Nakamura hits an Irish whip, but Hayes counters with a boot and a clothesline. Hayes follows with a chop, then climbs the turnbuckles and lands several punches. He hits a snap mare and drops a leg for a near fall. Hayes tries for a suplex, but Nakamura blocks it and rolls him up for a near fall. Hayes counters with a near fall of his own, and they go back and forth trading quick pin attempts.
Nakamura takes control with a snap mare and a knee drop to the chest for a two-count. He sends Hayes into the turnbuckles, then lands kicks and chokes him against the ropes. Nakamura follows with another snap mare into a reverse chin lock, then connects with a knee and a chest kick for another near fall. He keeps the pressure on with a chop and more kicks in the corner.
Hayes goes for a springboard move but misses, and Nakamura immediately hits a dropkick to the knee. Hayes rolls to the apron and lands a forearm, but Nakamura blocks his next kick and hits a dragon screw leg whip in the ropes, sending Hayes crashing to the floor.
Nakamura follows with hard kicks to Hayes’ leg, then rolls him back into the ring. He drops Hayes neck-first on the top rope and nails an axe kick to the back of the head for a near fall. Hayes rolls to the apron as the referee checks on him. Nakamura pulls him back in and hits another dragon screw in the ropes, then follows with a second one on the mat. He locks in a single-leg crab, continuing to target the injured leg.
ayes fights out of the single-leg crab with a kick to Nakamura. Nakamura fires back with a knee to the midsection and a pair of stiff kicks to the chest. He yells “Come on!” at Hayes, but Hayes blocks the next kick and lands an elbow to Nakamura’s knee. Hayes follows with a mix of chops and forearms. He flips over Nakamura, though his knee buckles slightly on the landing. Hayes recovers with a thrust kick and connects with a DDT for a near fall.
Hayes grabs a waist lock, but Nakamura counters with back elbows. Nakamura lifts Hayes onto the turnbuckles and sets up for another dragon screw, but Hayes fights back with punches and kicks. Hayes leaps off the turnbuckles and hits another DDT. Nakamura recovers and kicks Hayes while he’s still on the turnbuckles, then delivers another dragon screw. He tries to lift Hayes again, but Hayes avoids it and catches Nakamura with a sharp kick to the head. Hayes lands a chop, but Nakamura answers with one of his own. Nakamura follows with a series of knees, but Hayes fires back with a forearm. Nakamura responds with a kick—then another.
Nakamura grabs a waist lock, but Hayes elbows his way out. Hayes escapes a suplex attempt, but Nakamura quickly counters and plants him face-first into the mat.
Nakamura places Hayes on the top turnbuckle and sets up for a reverse superplex, but Hayes fights back with elbows. Nakamura stuns him with a kick, leaving Hayes hanging in the tree of woe. Nakamura charges for a knee strike, but Hayes pulls himself up just in time, causing Nakamura to crash to the floor.
Hayes follows with a crossbody to the outside, taking Nakamura down. He throws Nakamura back into the ring and goes up top for a frog splash—but misses. Nakamura quickly locks in a knee bar, but Hayes reaches the ropes to force a break.
Hayes surprises Nakamura with a roll-up for a near fall. Nakamura lifts Hayes onto his shoulders, but Hayes counters with a Stundog Millionaire. As Hayes comes off the ropes, Nakamura catches him with a kick, then hits a cradle shock for a close near fall.
Nakamura sets up for the Kinshasa, but Hayes cuts him off with a kick. Hayes then hits a springboard DDT, and both men are down.
Nakamura recovers first and kicks Hayes while he’s on the turnbuckles, then hits a running knee to the midsection. Hayes fires back with a jumping knee from the ropes, then stuns Nakamura with First 48. He climbs to the top rope and connects with Nothing But Net for the three-count.
Winner: Carmelo Hayes (retains the United States Championship)
After the match, Hayes offers a handshake. Nakamura accepts, showing respect.
Byron Saxton walks into Cody Rhodes’ locker room and asks him about tonight’s match. Cody says there’s no time for peace or quiet right now. He tells Byron he’s doing a great job, then shifts focus to Drew McIntyre. Cody says he saw that Drew has his father’s watch and remembers exactly what Drew did last week.
He says it’s not necessary to keep bringing up his father—calling it lazy. “Dusty doesn’t make the comeback. I do,” Cody says. He warns that people don’t realize what’s happening until they’re staring up at the lights. Cody closes by reminding everyone that the Royal Rumble is up next… and after that, it’s WrestleMania.
Nick Aldis makes a major announcement: there will be four qualifying matches to decide who will compete at Saturday Night’s Main Event. The winner of that final match will go on to challenge for the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble. The qualifying matches are set for next week:

After the big-match introductions, Cody Rhodes charges straight at Drew McIntyre and starts attacking him right out of the gate.
Stage One: Regular Match
Cody starts strong with a knee to Drew’s midsection, then hits a clothesline that sends McIntyre over the top rope to the floor. Cody follows with a suicide dive and throws Drew into the announce table.
Drew grabs a chair and hands it to Cody, daring him to use it. Instead, Cody kicks Drew and brings the fight back into the ring. He hits the Beautiful Disaster kick, follows up with a series of jabs, and finishes with a Bionic Elbow.
Cody chases Drew to the floor again, raking his eyes across the announce table before landing more punches. He rolls back into the ring to break the referee’s count, but Drew takes control by whipping Cody hard into the steel steps.
Drew goes for a belly-to-back suplex, but Cody lands on his feet and hits a double jump Cody Cutter for a near fall. Cody follows up with punches and chokes Drew in the corner. He then grabs a waist lock and delivers a German suplex.
Drew tries to bring Cody back into the ring for a slam, but Cody counters and hits another Cody Cutter for a close two-count. Drew backs into the corner, appearing to beg off, but Cody doesn’t let up and stomps him down until the referee steps in.
Cody fires up the crowd, who chant “Cody! Cody Rhodes!”, then sends Drew flying with a German suplex. He goes for a second, but Drew blocks it—ripping off the turnbuckle pad in the process. As the referee turns to fix the exposed buckle, Drew takes advantage with a low blow and follows it up with a Claymore.
He covers Cody for the three-count and wins the first stage.

Stage Two: Falls Count Anywhere
With the second fall underway, Drew McIntyre pulls a table from under the ring, shifting the crowd in his favor. He sets it up on the floor and powerbombs Cody Rhodes through it, earning a near fall.
Drew keeps the pressure on by sending Cody into the ring steps. They brawl up the aisle, where Drew lands a punch, but Cody fires back with a suplex onto the floor for a near fall of his own. Cody returns the favor by sending Drew into the steps, then hurls him over the ringside barrier and into the crowd.
Cody follows with a double sledge off the barrier, then lands more punches as they fight deeper into the audience. He nails an uppercut, then throws something at Drew’s head. As they brawl through the aisle, Cody bites Drew while taking a selfie, then sends him into the railing and smashes him with a drink to the head.
Cody tosses Drew further into the seating area, and they eventually make their way backstage. Drew regains control and throws Cody into the loading dock doors. Cody fights back, sending Drew into metal doors and landing more punches before they head back into the arena area.
Drew clears off a table and sets it up nearby. He lands a forearm to Cody’s back and tries to set up another powerbomb, but Cody climbs onto the nearby bleachers. Drew lifts him, but Cody counters by slamming Drew into the bleachers multiple times. Cody lays Drew out on the table and lands a few punches to keep him down. He looks around, spots a ledge in the stands, and climbs up.
With the crowd on their feet, Cody leaps off and hits a huge frog splash through the table, crashing down on Drew. He covers him, but Drew kicks out at two for a near fall. ody drags Drew back toward the ring as the fight nears its end. While the referee checks on Drew, Cody heads into the ringside area—but Drew suddenly grabs the chair from earlier and smashes Cody with it.
Drew hits him again and sets up for a Claymore into the announce table, but Cody counters with a thrust kick. He clears off the announce table and hoists Drew up onto it.
Cody sets up for Cross Rhodes—and connects, driving Drew through the table. He covers Drew on top of the wreckage and gets the three-count.

Stage Three: Steel Cage Match
The cage lowers around them as Drew remains on his knees, struggling to stand. Cody takes advantage, slamming Drew into the steel cage multiple times. Drew fights back and throws Cody into the cage wall, then crawls toward the door. Cody grabs his leg and pulls him back in. Cody hits a suplex to bring Drew back into the ring and covers him for a near fall.
Drew responds with an Irish whip—Cody tries to float over, but Drew catches him with a kick to the midsection and follows with a cover for a near fall of his own. Drew lands a series of punches, but Cody fires back with a kick and a drop-down uppercut. Cody charges, but misses a shoulder and crashes into the ring post. Drew capitalizes, hitting a Future Shock DDT and covers—Cody kicks out at two for a near fall.
Drew unleashes a flurry of punches on Cody, then lands a hard kick to the head, followed by more strikes. Cody manages to float over and counters with CrossRhodes for a near fall.
The two begin trading stiff forearms in the center of the ring. Cody gains the edge with a big forearm, then hits a powerslam for another close two-count. He follows up with a Cody Cutter for yet another near fall.
Cody waits for Drew to rise and hits CrossRhodes again—then holds on and delivers a second one. He sets up for a third, but Drew rakes the eyes. Cody stumbles, misses a splash, and crashes into the exposed turnbuckle. Drew charges and connects with a Claymore Kick—but Cody kicks out at two. Near fall.
Drew begins climbing the cage, trying to escape, but Cody climbs up after him and bites his leg to stop him. They both battle on top of the cage.
Cody gains the upper hand and slams Drew’s head into the steel. Then, in a huge moment, Cody hits a Cody Cutter off the top of the cage, crashing to the mat with Drew. Cody covers—but Drew kicks out at two for a dramatic near fall. Cody is the first to get to his feet as the referee checks on Drew. Cody begins climbing the cage, trying to escape. Drew slowly stands, grabs Cody’s ankle, and lands punches to his back.
Both men climb up the cage. Drew slams Cody’s head into the steel, but Cody responds by ramming Drew into the cage multiple times. Drew fires back with punches to Cody’s back and elbows to the midsection. Cody gets one leg over the top, but Drew pulls him back inside as the battle continues high above the ring.
Both Drew and Cody take hard falls, landing awkwardly on the top rope before crashing down to the mat. As they lie there in pain, the referee opens the cage door and Drew starts crawling toward it. Suddenly, a hooded man rushes in and shoves the referee down—it’s Jacob Fatu.
Drew switches direction and tries to climb out the other side of the cage, but Fatu cuts him off with a brutal kick. Fatu follows with a headbutt. Cody grabs Fatu to pull him away, but Fatu attacks him too, landing punches and driving his shoulder into Cody’s midsection.
With both men hurt, Drew manages to crawl back toward the door and tumbles out to the floor.
Winner: Drew McIntyre (new WWE Champion)
After the match, Cody recovers just enough to grab Jacob Fatu and send him crashing into the steel cage. We fade out and go to credits.
