Rap Battle

The Uso’s Vs The New Day

Wale, who will be MC-ing the rap battle between The Usos and the New Day is in the ring. He introduces both teams.

I’m not going to try and recount everything that was said between the two teams but it was good for what it was, included some non-PG and non-kayfabe references. The Usos push The New Day at the end of the Rap Battle and Wal disqualifies The Usos. The winners of the Rap Battle, The New Day.

Tonight’s #SDLive #RapBattle, hosted by @wale, was unapologetically and undoubtedly PERSONAL! @WWEUsos @TrueKofi @WWEBigE @XavierWoodsPHD pic.twitter.com/WAhFQ5q11T

Winner Via Disqualification: Aiden English

Jinder Mahal’s music hits. Mahal on the microphone as a loud “USA” chant errupts. Mahal says it’s the land of prejudice and ignorance. He says he is disrespected. He says at Battleground, he will show why he is the only true super power in the WWE. Orton interrups him. He says no one will stop him from punishing him in the Punjabi Prison match. Orton says no one likes Jinder because he is a jackass.

*Commercial Break*

We see Tye Dillinger walking backstage and he’s approached for an interview…by Tyler Breeze wearing a wig. Breeze says his name is Tenee Young, then asks if Tye is worried about the threat of Breezango in the Battle Royale, and what his strategy is. Dillinger says in a match like this you need to have eyes in the back of your head, and he turns around to see a workman (Fandango) in the background. He says he wonders what Breezango will do if they have to fight each other tonight. Breeze looks confused and Tye turns to walk off but stops and says “oooh, Tenee, you’re a 10”. Fandango walks up and asks if Tye knew who they were but Breeza says even he didn’t know it was them. Fandango says they might have to come to blows tonight but they’ll still be a team. Breeze says “forever” and Fandango rubs his cheek.

A job well done by @MmmGorgeous and @WWEFandango… #SDLive #Breezango #TeneeYoung pic.twitter.com/QvIfj3HzVJ

We cut to a confused looking Renee Young and the crowd laugh. Renee is with Maria and Mike Kanellis. They start to talk about love but the video cuts out and we hear them talking but can only see the fans and the arena. Eventually we cut back in just in time to see them kiss but there’s a loud bang and they stop…the camera turns to show Sami Zayn stretching and he knocked over a pole. Sami apologises to them and starts rambling about love and Huey Lewis. Suddenly Sami’s music plays and he exclaims before springting off to the ring. Mike looks to resume the kiss but Maria says the moment is ruined and Mike doesn’t look happy.

Despite his tendency to interrupt @MariaLKanellis & @RealMikeBennett, @iLikeSamiZayn is ALL ABOUT their mission to spread the love! #SDLive pic.twitter.com/OiAqHTgzzJ

Sami Zayn makes his way to the ring before commercial. Two hilarious segments in a row there.

*Commercial Break*

Independence Day Battle Royale

The action begins and Dolph Ziggler is almost eliminated as he’s thrown over the ropes by Sami Zayn but he holds on to the ropes and gets back inside. Styles is almost eliminated, but again, holds on to the ropes.

Luke Harper clotheslines Dolph out of the ring, and Ziggler is the first man eliminated from the contest!

*Commercial Break*

Back from the commercial break, Fandago is eliminated from Erick Rowan. Tyler Breeze is thrown out by Rowan but Fandago holds on to his tag team partner and throws him back in the ring.

Well, @WWEFandango is eliminated, but #TeneeYoung is still in this thing! #SDLive #BattleRoyal @MmmGorgeous pic.twitter.com/ohTSYa1Qmo

— WWE Universe (@WWEUniverse) July 5, 2017

Rowan gets his throw on point the next time, and Breeze is eliminated. Rowan is eliminated by Sin Cara; Konnor was eliminated by Harper and Harper was eliminated by Mojo Rawley. Rawley throws out his partner, Zack Ryder, before he himself is eliminated.

Sami Zayn, AJ Styles and Tye Dillinger are the three wrestlers in the ring and Dillinger is taking both Styles and Zayn to the cleaners. He looks up for it and chomping at the bit to eliminate both.

Dillinger tries to eliminate both at the same time but both Zayn and Styles hold on the ropes. Zayn recovers and eliminates Dillinger, who looked threatening! Zayn is sizing up Styles, who is facing his second match of the night. Zayn goes for a few punches, but Zayn hits a suplex and goes for the Helluva kick but Styles moves out of the way and Zayn flies over the top rope but hangs on.

And then there were THREE… @AJStylesOrg @iLikeSamiZayn @WWEDillinger #SDLive #BattleRoyal pic.twitter.com/WWq6kHqjW6

— WWE (@WWE) July 5, 2017

Zayn is now on the apron and tries to suplex Styles out of the ring but AJ knee’s him in the head. AJ lands on his feet and hits Pele kick that sends Sami off of the apron!

Winner and New Number One Contender: AJ Styles

Kevin Owens, from the announce table, runs into the ring and takes a shot at Styles and taunts at him. Styles hits Owens with the enzuigiri and KO scurries out of the ring. AJ Styles will face Kevin Owens for the United States Championship at WWE Battleground!

What a way to close out the #July4 edition of #SDLive! @AJStylesOrg will challenge @FightOwensFight for the #USTitle at #WWEBattleground! ?? pic.twitter.com/q5KY7qp1Mz
