WWE NXT No Mercy saw Lola Vice fail to win the NXT Women’s Title after a masked figure attacked Vice, allowing Jacy Jayne to retain her title. While speculation about the attacker’s identity continued, it seems WWE accidentally spoiled who the attacker really was.

In WWE’s first online recap of the match on their website, they accidentally gave away the fact that the mystery attacker was Lainey Reid.

“Jacy Jayne retained the NXT Women’s Championship thanks to a shocking assist from Lainey Reid.”

After realizing the spoiler, WWE later changed the first line of their recap and removed Lainey Reid’s name and instead wrote that Jacy Jayne was still the champion but not without some controversy.

As for the match itself, at one point, Vice almost won, but Fallon Henley pulled the referee out of the ring and got ejected. Jayne tried to use the championship belt as a weapon but was stopped.

Jayne then hit her Rolling Encore move, but Vice countered with her Spinning Backfist and rolled outside. That’s when the hooded figure suddenly appeared and nailed Vice with a running knee. Vice rolled back in and was finished off by Jayne’s Rolling Encore.

“Jacy Jayne is still the NXT Women’s Champion, but not without some controversy.

The champion used her technician skills to keep the powerful Vice off her feet and pinned down to the mat. The champion continued her assault on the outside, which included a huge rolling senton into the steel steps.

One swift kick from Vice rocked Jayne and changed the complexion of the match, and the champion unleashed a flurry of strikes as her family cheered from ringside.

Vice seemingly had the match won, but Fallon Henley pulled the official out of the ring to stop the count and was ejected from ringside.

Out of options, Jayne grabbed the NXT Women’s Title and tried to use it as a weapon, but she was thwarted by the official.

Out of nowhere, Jayne hit Rolling Encore, but Vice executed her Spinning Backfist and fell out of the ring.

A hooded figure appeared and cracked Vice with a running knee strike at ringside. Moments later, the challenger rolled back into the ring and suffered a final Rolling Encore.”

Earlier in the night, Lainey Reid was pulled from her WWE Speed Women’s Title match against Sol Ruca because of a foot injury. Reid has been involved with the group Fatal Influence for several weeks.

This has made some fans think she might join the group and take the spot left open after Jazmyn Nyx left WWE. So we’ll have to see if that will happen in the end as WWE ended up spoiling Reid’s identity.
