Drew McIntyre has been a hot topic lately, especially after walking out of the Royal Rumble. His disappointment with his WrestleMania 41 plans has only fueled more speculation. After receiving criticism from fans, WWE is now reportedly rethinking McIntyre’s opponent for WrestleMania 41 and may adjust their plans to better meet fan expectations.

According to a report by Chris Featherstone, WWE officials are having internal discussions about changing Drew McIntyre’s WrestleMania 41 opponent. Sources within the company noted that the online backlash surrounding McIntyre’s rumored match has led to a reevaluation of current plans.

“Sources within WWE have informed me that the online backlash of Drew McIntyre’s potential WrestleMania opponent has opened up internal discussions to reevaluate current plans.”

Previous reports indicated that WWE originally planned for Drew McIntyre to face Damian Priest at WrestleMania 41, a decision that reportedly frustrated McIntyre. However, following fan backlash, WWE is now considering a change.

There is growing speculation that WWE might pivot to a match between McIntyre and LA Knight, someone that McIntyre had issues with recently. Of course, things have smoothed over now and Drew McIntyre is perfectly fine with LA Knight.

Drew McIntyre wasted no time making an impact during the February 7th edition of Friday Night SmackDown as he beat LA Knight and Jimmy Uso to qualify for the Men’s Elimination Chamber match as well. Therefore, we will have to wait and see if he will end up squaring off against LA Knight at WrestleMania 41, as anything could happen.

With McIntyre’s opponent still uncertain, could WWE pivot to a blockbuster match against LA Knight, or will they find another alternative? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
