Despite backlash online, WWE has doubled down on Roman Reigns’ Royal Rumble victory—ranking it as the No. 1 moment on their “25 Best Moments” list from this year’s event. Liv Morgan’s long-awaited Rumble win, which many fans viewed as a standout story, was placed second.
WWE’s ranking decision comes just after Reigns’ win at Riyadh Season Stadium drew a mixed response from fans. On YouTube, the official video of Reigns celebrating his win has racked up 234,000 views—but the approval ratio tells a different story. With 10.8K likes and 9.1K dislikes, the video is sitting at a low 54.5% like-to-dislike ratio—an unusually polarizing reception for a Royal Rumble winner.
Still, WWE made their stance clear: Roman’s moment was the biggest of the night. This marked Reigns’ first match since November 29, when he was on the losing side of the WarGames match, and his first victory in a WWE ring since August 31, when he beat Bronson Reed at Clash in Paris. It wasn’t his first Royal Rumble win—but it was still placed ahead of Morgan’s, who had been runner-up in the previous two Rumbles before finally scoring the victory this year.
Liv Morgan’s win, however, still ranked higher than AJ Styles’ final WWE match, which speaks to the significance of her moment—just not enough for WWE to call it No. 1.
With Roman’s win being both divisive and prioritized by WWE, it raises an all-too-familiar question for fans: Is this another case of the company forcing a moment that the audience hasn’t embraced?
