WWE may be looking to evolve the presentation of NXT in 2026, and a potential shake-up could bring the black-and-gold brand closer in line with the touring model of RAW and SmackDown — but without abandoning its developmental roots.
According to a WretleVote Radio on Fightful Select, WWE is internally discussing an expanded travel schedule for NXT television starting next year. While nothing has been officially confirmed, sources say the goal is to give more NXT talent consistent reps on the road, helping them gain valuable experience working in front of different audiences and environments.
The CW Network, which will become the exclusive home of NXT in the U.S. starting in 2024, is said to be fully supportive of the idea. Network officials reportedly believe that taking the show on the road will freshen up the weekly broadcast and enhance its overall production value — a key point as WWE continues to position NXT as both a developmental brand and a valuable content property.
Currently, NXT is primarily filmed at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. While that venue has become an essential part of NXT’s identity, it also limits the weekly atmosphere due to the repetition of local fan attendance.
Sources mentioned that there are no plans to abandon the Performance Center model entirely. Instead, the expanded touring would be designed to complement the current system, providing additional opportunities for talent growth while giving the CW Network a more dynamic weekly product.
As WWE balances its long-term talent development goals with growing NXT’s national footprint, taking the show on the road appears to be the next logical evolution.
