WWE is preparing to expand its reach even further by bringing the AAA brand to the United States, marking a major step forward since taking ownership of the legendary lucha libre promotion.

According to WrestleVotes, WWE is actively planning AAA television tapings on U.S. soil for the first time since acquiring control of the company. This move signals WWE’s intent to grow AAA beyond Mexico and establish a stronger presence with American audiences. Joey Votes confirmed that plans are already in motion for AAA to begin running shows domestically.

“Sources indicate WWE will bring the AAA brand to the United States for the first time under its ownership with their Saturday night FOX show scheduled for here in the states on April 11th.”

The expansion will reportedly follow AAA’s traditional television taping format, which differs from WWE’s weekly touring structure.

“As with all AAA on FOX tapings, this show is set to feature a triple taping.”

While an exact location has not been finalized, early discussions suggest Texas is a strong possibility, which makes sense given the state’s deep connection to lucha libre and its proximity to Mexico.

“While the source did not have direct knowledge of the event’s location, Texas was speculated as a leading option.”

TC also explained that WWE will likely approach these shows differently than major WWE premium live events, opting for smaller venues that align more closely with the AAA and NXT presentation style.

“I don't think there's going to be large NBA size arenas. They're going to be smaller size venues, similar to NXT.”

This move represents a clear effort by WWE to expand AAA’s footprint and introduce its unique style of lucha libre to a broader American audience under the WWE umbrella. It also gives WWE another brand to develop talent, create new stars, and strengthen its overall global wrestling portfolio.

If successful, these AAA shows could become a regular part of WWE’s event schedule and open the door for more crossover opportunities between AAA and WWE talent.
