AJ Styles isn’t just planning to retire in 2026—WWE is making sure it’s a farewell fans will never forget.

According to a new report from Lucha Libre Online, the company is laying the groundwork for a full retirement tour to honor The Phenomenal One’s legendary run. The report says WWE wants to give Styles the goodbye he deserves, complete with a send-off that spans his final year in the ring.

“WWE is expected to hold a sort of ‘retirement tour’ for AJ Styles in 2026. This will be the Phenomenal One’s last year as an active competitor in the ring. It’s beautiful to see that WWE is giving him the opportunity to say goodbye on his own terms and conditions 👏👏👏”

This update comes after Styles made his retirement plans public during the WWE Crown Jewel kickoff show. He got honest about aging, his shifting priorities, and the desire to walk away with dignity intact.

“I’m getting old, folks. Listen, if I could find the fountain of youth and take a couple of sips, I’d wrestle for the rest of my life. But you know, I am getting older, and the fear of embarrassing myself is getting closer.”

His message made it clear—after decades of top-tier matches, he’s ready to focus on his family and enjoy life outside the squared circle.

“There comes a time in a man’s life when he has to take care of business, but when business is done, it’s time to take care of his family. I need to spend time with my family. The whole idea of wrestling and having an amazing future in this business is to be able to retire one day, and in 2026, I will retire.”

WWE isn’t taking those words lightly. According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, internal discussions about Styles’ retirement are already underway.

“There is a plan in play for how to handle AJ Styles’ retirement in 2026.” While the full format hasn’t been confirmed, WWE is determined to do it right. “It’s not fully locked in or anything, but the idea is, ‘We’re gonna do something.’” And yes, they fully expect 2026 to be Styles’ final year, “So yeah, they believe he’s retiring next year.”

From his roots in TNA, to iconic matches in NJPW, to shocking the world with his WWE debut at the 2016 Royal Rumble, AJ Styles has done it all. A retirement tour isn’t just deserved—it’s essential. WWE looks set to let Styles ride off on his terms, and for a man who gave the business everything, that’s the only fitting ending.
