Jim Ross comes to the ring to call commentary on this next Championship bout. To say Ross got a great reception is a massive understatement.

Ross joins Nigel McGuinness on commentary. It’s time for the United Kingdom Championship, and Pete Dunne is out first!

United Kingdom Championship Match

(C) Tyler Bate Vs. Pete Dunne

The majority of the fans chant “bruiserweight” as the bell rings. They lock-up and Pete Dunne gets the Champion in a front facelock. Dunne grounds Bate with a headscissors, which Bate eventually finds a creative way out of and the two separate to take stock.

Collar-and-elbow lock-up restarts the affair and Pete Dunne immediately takes Bate down with a wristlock. Bate uses his athleticism to get out of the lock and dropkicks Dunne out of the ring. Bate follows Dunne out of the ring, only to be met with a chop to the chest. Dunne attacks the hand again and sticks it between the steel steps before trying to stomp on it, but Bate dodges and punches Dunne.

Bate leaps off of the steel steps with a spinning elbow. Dunne regains control at ringside before unleashing a hellacious release suplex onto the apron. Dunne rolls back inside and holds his jaw as Bate recovers. Dunne kicks Bate as he’s down, then poses to the Chicago crowd, who adore him. Once again Dunne goes to work with some more joint manipulation, which Nigel McGuinness points-out is illegal. Dunne holds the arm of Tyler Bate and kicks his head repeatedly. Bate takes multiple kicks before slowly getting to his feet and shaking them off. Bate grabs Dunne and lands a nice T-Bone suplex.

Dunne hits a running European uppercut to Dunne in the corner. Then another. Bate looks for it again but Dunne follows him to the opposite corner and hits an enziguri. Dunne looks for another release suplex but Bate lands on his feet and immediately hits a standing shooting star press onto the back of Dunne. Tyler quickly grabs Dunne from the mat and lands a back suplex for a near-fall.

Dunne is down in the centre of the ring and Bate looks for another shooting star press but Dunne catches him with a triangle choke. Dunne punches Bate in the face as he has him in the triangle. Bate lifts Dunne up from the mat and slams him down, what strength! The fans grant them a “this is awesome” chant. The Champion lifts Pete Dunne and gives an airplane spin at an incredible speed that got the crowd going nuts. Bate releases Dunne and stumbles around before landing on him for a near-fall.

Tyler looks for another back suplex but Dunne lands on his feet. Tyler ducks a clothesline and springboards from the corner, right into a big forearm from Pete. Dunne lifts Bate and hits a release suplex into a powerbomb for another near-fall and the fans go nuts, give them a standing ovation.

Both men are down and punch each other as they climb to their feet, where they punch each other like crazy. Bate lands a big right hand, while Dunne hits an enziguri. They stand, groggy in the ring, heads butting! Amazing! Bate comes off of the ropes and lands an front flip kick, and Dunne hits the ropes, and returns with a soccer kick to the chest. Dunne throws Bate to the ropes but the Champion uses his shoulders to slingshot back and clothesline Dunne out of his socks. Another near-fall!

Both men stay down for a few minutes until Tyler Bate rises. Bate looks for the Tyler Driver but Dunne reverses, looking for The Bitter End, but Bate lands a DDT! Dunne rolls from the ring and the referee starts counting. Tyler Bate doesn’t want to win that way, he goes to the apron and hits a springboard moonsault. Bate sends Dunne back inside and lands a corkscrew 450 for a near fall!!

Dunne goes to the outside again and Bate leaps over the top rope but nobody’s home. Dunne sends Bate back inside and hits The Bitter End for the 123!

Winner and New United Kingdom Championship: Pete Dunne

Wow. Can anyone follow that instant classic?!
