An NXT live event took a scary turn this week — with possible injuries coming out of a match that had to be stopped more than once.
During the NXT live event in Lakeland, Eli Knight, Elio LeFleur, Kale Dixon, and Tavion Heights faced off against The Birth Right’s Channing Lorenzo, Charlie Dempsey, Lexis King, and Uriah Connors in what started as a routine tag team match.
But things quickly changed when the action had to be halted — not once, but twice — as referees threw up the X signal, which is usually a sign of a legitimate injury. The first situation involved Lexis King, who took a hard knee directly to the face during the match, immediately leading to concern among those in attendance.
The match continued, but things took another turn when Elio LeFleur appeared to suffer an even more serious issue during a spot involving the turnbuckle, as the WWE Speed Champion might have broken his arm going into a turnbuckle.
Referees were seen closely checking on LeFleur following the incident, with the repeated stoppages making it clear that this wasn’t part of the show — something had genuinely gone wrong inside the ring. The match was ultimately ruled a no contest.
With two separate injury scares in the same match, the situation quickly went from routine to concerning, especially with the X signal being used multiple times. At this point, there’s no official word on the severity of either injury, but the immediate reactions from officials and the visible impact on both competitors suggest this could be more than just minor setbacks.
