The January 6 episode of WWE NXT will be the annual New Year’s Evil special. It will also be the first NXT show of the year, and that’s why WWE has put together a strong lineup to start 2026 in a big way.

NXT Championship: Oba Femi (c) vs. Leon Slater

Oba Femi faces a dangerous challenger in Leon Slater, the TNA X-Division Champion, who won a fatal four-way to earn this opportunity. Considering just how dominant Femi has been as the NXT Champion, we’ll have to see whether Slater can somehow pull off the upset win and leave NXT as a double champion.

NXT Women’s North American Championship: Thea Hail (c) vs. Blake Monroe

Thea Hail beat Blake Monroe for the NXT Women’s North American Championship thanks to a botched finish on the December 16, 2025 edition of NXT. Monroe will now challenge Hail for the title on NXT this week and get revenge, so it remains to be seen whether the Glamour will reclaim the title once and for all.

NXT Women’s Championship: Jacy Jayne (c) vs. Kendal Grey

Jacy Jayne will also put her NXT Women’s Title on the line against Kendal Grey. This comes after Kendal won the Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge match at NXT Deadline. Grey has shown the world she’s already an incredible wrestler, so fans are excited to see whether she can dethrone Jacy Jayne and kick off 2026 as the NXT Women’s Champion.

Tatum Paxley vs. Izzi Dame

The feud between Tatum Paxley and Izzi Dame is far from over, as the two will duke it out on NXT this week. It all started after Dame betrayed Paxley and went on to beat her thanks to the Culling. So now we’ll have to see if Paxley can finally beat Dame and put an end to their feud.
