The WWE and TNA partnership just hit another major milestone ahead of TNA Genesis, and fans are still wrapping their heads around it. On January 18, one day before the pay-per-view, NXT’s official Twitter account did something no one saw coming—they actually promoted the event.

The tweet featured a video hyping up Genesis with the caption: “.@ThisisTNA 🤝 @WWENXT. You don’t want to miss #TNAGenesis, TOMORROW.”

This unexpected move is another sign that the working relationship between WWE and TNA is stronger than ever. Since the partnership kicked off last year with Jordynne Grace’s shocking NXT appearance, both brands have made it clear they’re willing to collaborate in ways that would’ve been unthinkable just a few years ago.

TNA Genesis is set to deliver an action-packed night with major title matches and heated rivalries coming to a head. The event will feature Nic Nemeth defending the TNA World Championship against Joe Hendry, a brutal Clockwork Orange House of Fun Match for the Knockouts Championship, and a major grudge match between Tessa Blanchard and Jordynne Grace.

Other matches include:

  • TNA World Tag Team Championship: The Hardys vs. The Rascalz
  • TNA X-Division Championship: Moose vs. Ace Austin
  • TNA Knockouts Tag Team Championship: Spitfire vs. Ash & Heather By Elegance
  • Josh Alexander vs. Mike Santana – I Quit Match
  • Eddie Edwards & Brian Myers vs. Steve Maclin & Eric Young

TNA Genesis will air live on January 19 from The Curtis Culwell Center in Garland, Texas, streaming exclusively on TNA+.

The fact that WWE went out of their way to push this event speaks volumes about how serious they are about this partnership. Whether this means more crossover moments or even bigger plans for WrestleMania weekend remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure—this is a huge moment for the wrestling industry.
