The short-lived alliance between Roxanne Perez and Giulia officially collapsed on the May 12 episode of WWE Raw—and now we know why it all fell apart so fast. Despite teaming against IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley, the duo couldn’t hold their ground, and things got worse backstage when Giulia made it crystal clear she was done.

After the match, Perez suggested they speak with Adam Pearce to regroup, but Giulia didn’t hesitate to shut it down. “There is no ‘we,’” she said coldly before walking away, leaving Perez standing alone and stunned.

Now, Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp is revealing there were likely never any long-term plans for the pairing to begin with.

When asked if WWE had a bigger picture in mind, Sapp replied, “I had never heard of any—that doesn’t mean there weren’t any—but I never heard of [them]. Because like when I would ask about Roxanne, I was told, ‘Oh yeah, she’s supposed to be full-time on the main roster after January or the Rumble,’ and that didn’t happen that way. So no, they were probably just a week-to-week booking, and it’s an unfortunate thing that we are starting to witness.”

It’s now clear both stars are going their separate ways: Roxanne Perez officially signed her Raw contract this past Monday, while Giulia inked her deal with SmackDown last week.

With no real plan behind their brief alliance, it looks like WWE was simply testing the waters—and pulled the plug fast.
