The AAA-WWE partnership just got a little more interesting. While Konnan has already confirmed his place on the creative team for AAA under WWE’s new ownership, a new name is being thrown into the mix behind the scenes—Jeremy Borash.

On the Fightful Select Q&A, Sean Ross Sapp was asked whether WWE would be sending executives like Bruce Prichard or Borash to oversee AAA’s operations. Sapp replied, “Jeremy Borash was supposed to be involved in some capacity. I’m working to find out more on that but he was supposed to be involved in some capacity.”

Borash has long been considered a creative and production asset within WWE, especially through his work with NXT and special projects. If he ends up involved with AAA’s relaunch under WWE, it could mean big changes in how the product is presented—both visually and structurally.

Meanwhile, Konnan made his position crystal clear during a recent episode of K100. “I am going to be on their creative team,” he said flat-out, confirming his continued influence over the product. When asked who he would be reporting to, he replied, “Probably Dorian, Hunter, and HBK.”

Konnan also took time to address AAA’s past struggles and how the WWE deal changes everything. “Our problem in AAA isn’t our talent. It’s not our booking. It’s that we didn’t have any money,” he said, pointing out that WWE’s TV budget dwarfs anything AAA has ever worked with.

With WWE’s funding and production power—and possible support from names like Borash—Konnan made it clear that fans should expect a major upgrade. “We’re working with WWE. It doesn’t get any better than that,” he said.

With Jeremy Borash possibly stepping in and Konnan locking down a spot on creative, AAA’s future under WWE is already heating up—and the deal hasn’t even fully kicked in yet. Add in WWE’s budget and production muscle, and this partnership could flip the entire Lucha Libre scene on its head.
