WWE is making a strategic move this week by filming two episodes of NXT in a single night.

According to a report from Bodyslam.net, Tuesday’s taping will cover both the October 7 and October 14 editions of the show.

The reason behind this decision is WWE’s upcoming trip to Australia, where the company will present SmackDown, Crown Jewel, and RAW as part of a massive Perth Takeover week. With part of the production and talent crew preparing to travel overseas, WWE opted to film two weeks’ worth of NXT episodes in advance to ensure smooth operations across the board.

This week’s NXT ShowDown special already has fans fired up due to its crossover with TNA Wrestling, and now the added twist of a double taping makes things even more interesting. It’s a move that makes sense from a logistics perspective, giving WWE flexibility during a packed international schedule.

Some fans are excited by the efficiency of the plan, while others are wondering how this might impact the energy of the show when the second episode airs a week later. Double tapings have been hit or miss in the past when it comes to live crowd reactions and in-the-moment storytelling, but WWE seems confident this is the best approach under the circumstances.
