Ron Killings—or R-Truth, depending on which part of WWE you’re looking at—continues to be the center of identity confusion during this chaotic return run. Just as fans were adjusting to the company pushing his real name on commentary and merchandise, WWE seems to be fine-tuning the branding live on the air.

During the second hour of the June 9 episode of Monday Night RAW, WWEShop featured a promotional graphic clearly labeling him as Ron “R-Truth” Killings—a hybrid of his long-running WWE persona and real name. The shirts themselves remain unchanged, but the updated branding now signals that WWE may be embracing both names at once rather than fully replacing “R-Truth.”

This all comes after a massive social media rollout over the weekend that positioned him under his real name across WWE.com, social platforms, and brand-new merchandise drops. Triple H even posted a photo standing next to Killings right before RAW aired, saying: “You wanted it… Tonight.”

But WWE’s handling of this return has drawn major attention backstage. As previously reported, Killings’ son called out WWE leadership online by posting “cap” in response to Triple H claiming Truth’s exit and comeback was always part of the plan. Multiple WWE stars told Fightful Select they didn’t buy that explanation either—insisting Killings really was let go, and that the return was sparked by real fan pressure.

Now with WWE’s official shop openly merging his two identities into one, it looks like the company is trying to strike a balance between nostalgia and reinvention without picking a side too fast.
