WWE is showing serious interest in locking down 61-year-old wrestling legend Konnan to a legends contract—separate from his current involvement as a commentator through AAA.
According to WrestleVotes Radio on WrestleBinge, WWE has “strong interest” in bringing Konnan in under a legends deal. The report adds that the potential deal would be entirely separate from his current work tied to AAA, where he appeared on commentary at the Worlds Collide event alongside Corey Graves.
That means WWE could be offering Konnan two separate paydays—one for his legacy, and one for his on-air work. Not bad for someone who hasn’t been a WWE fixture in decades.
The Worlds Collide event marked a major crossover moment between AAA and WWE, and Konnan found himself back in the spotlight for U.S. fans. While the event served as a major introduction of AAA talent to WWE’s audience, the backstage reaction also made it clear that WWE sees value in Konnan beyond just that one night.
If a legends deal goes through, Konnan would join a list of veterans recognized and retained by WWE for historical contributions—while still collecting separately for his ongoing commentary work.
