WWE is officially feeling the pressure ahead of WrestleMania 42—and now it’s all hands on deck.

According to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, WWE held a major internal meeting on February 11 to address lower-than-expected ticket sales for this year’s two-night event at Allegiant Stadium. Sources say every department has been instructed to ramp up promotional efforts in the final stretch toward April.

“WWE held a multi-department company meeting yesterday to address WrestleMania ticket sales. According to a source, leadership acknowledged internally that the current numbers are below expectations, all departments have been tasked with developing strategies and promotions to roll out beginning in late February in an effort to boost momentum and sales heading into the event.”

Despite speculation that WWE might slash ticket prices to help move seats, that’s reportedly not the case—for now: “Additionally, we’re told WWE intends to keep current ticket pricing as is for the time being.”

This update comes just days after Wrestling Observer Radio reported growing backstage frustration over Triple H’s WrestleMania plans—or lack thereof. Dave Meltzer revealed that WWE had a full card set before the Royal Rumble, but panic over sluggish early sales caused those plans to be thrown into chaos.

“Before the Rumble, they had a complete card for WrestleMania… but I was told that everything is up in the air.”

That uncertainty has drawn criticism of Paul Levesque’s leadership, with some insiders comparing the current chaos to Vince McMahon’s last-minute booking style.

“There’s been a lot of internal criticism of Paul Levesque… they have a plan, and then they change the plan. And right now everything is up in the air.”

What’s fueling the confusion? According to Meltzer, WWE is changing creative despite the fact that fans haven’t even seen the lineup.

“They think that changing a card that nobody knows makes sense. It’s not like they have a bad card out there and people aren’t buying tickets. They don’t have a card out there.”

While CM Punk vs. Roman Reigns is locked in, other major matches—including a potential Cody Rhodes vs. Drew McIntyre bout—are reportedly not guaranteed. And as Bryan Alvarez pointed out, the ticket problems may have less to do with match quality and more to do with the cost of attending.

“You're trying to sell 50, 60,000 seats for two nights… with crazy prices to get in. It may be too expensive now.”

As of this past week, WrestleTix reported that approximately 36,000 tickets had been distributed for each night of WrestleMania 42—roughly 10,000 fewer per night compared to the same point last year. WrestleMania 41 eventually finished with between 56,000 and 60,000 tickets per night, meaning WWE still has serious ground to make up.

Between surging ticket prices, inflated hotel rates in Las Vegas, and international fans saving up for the World Cup, WWE is battling an uphill climb to fill Allegiant Stadium. The internal meeting shows the company knows it—and is trying to course-correct without blinking on pricing just yet.
