Stephanie Vaquer and Jordynne Grace tore the house down at NXT Battleground in Tampa, Florida, but despite their show-stealing performance, Grace isn’t heading to WWE’s main roster just yet.
The NXT Women’s Championship match delivered everything fans hoped for. Vaquer retained her title after a brutal back-and-forth contest that included top-rope suplexes, a jackhammer from Grace, and a barricade spot that had the crowd chanting “holy sh*t.” After Vaquer hit her finisher one last time, the pinfall sealed the win and capped what many called one of the weekend’s best matches.
On the May 26, 2025 episode of Fightful Select’s Report Podcast, Sean Ross Sapp clarified Grace’s current trajectory in WWE. “I don’t think Jordynne Grace is going up imminently. She’s going to help a lot of these NXT women.”
Sapp praised the chemistry between Grace and Vaquer, and explained that WWE is focused on letting them elevate the division together. “These two [Grace and Stephanie Vaquer] have really, really special chemistry.”
He also mentioned WWE’s emphasis on adapting to its in-ring style, especially after Grace’s match with Giulia. “I know that backstage after the Julia match, you know, there were—like, it was made clear, OK, gotta work the WWE style here, as opposed to dropping somebody straight down on their dome on a Michinoku driver. But she can do that too.”
According to Sapp, Grace’s range is exactly why WWE values her in NXT. “Jordynne can wrestle any style. Stephanie can adjust to any number of styles as well.”
So while Giulia has already moved up to SmackDown, WWE wants Grace to stay put for now. Not because she isn’t ready—but because she can help elevate the entire NXT women’s division.
