Mistakes can happen at any time in the world of professional wrestling and WWE is no different, as botches can’t be avoided sometimes. In fact, WWE has now edited out a huge botch concerning Finn Balor during the February 17 episode of RAW.
Near the end of Finn Balor’s match against Seth Rollins, Rollins hit a Pedigree and went for the pin. Balor was slow to kick out, leading the referee to hesitate and stop counting, even though Balor’s shoulders were still on the mat. The live crowd noticed and started chanting “three” because they thought the match should have ended. Quite a few fans called out Finn Balor for this huge botch after the live broadcast.
However, when WWE uploaded the match to Netflix for their on-demand version, they edited out the botch to make it look like Balor kicked out at two without a problem. They also removed the “three” chants from the crowd, but the “ref you suck” chants that followed were still in the final version.
Seth Rollins ultimately defeated Finn Balor to qualify for the Men’s Elimination Chamber match, but the botch was something that fans felt took away from the bout, which was well-received for the most part.
WWE often edits out mistakes after a show, but this time, fans have mixed opinions. Some think it’s important to keep the show looking smooth, while others believe mistakes are part of wrestling and should stay in the final version. Regardless, what’s done is done, and the match is over and WWE will likely continue to edit out such botches in the future.
Do you think WWE should edit out botches like this, or should they leave them in for authenticity Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comment section below.
