WrestleMania 41 is set for Las Vegas, but rumors have been swirling about WWE’s plans for next year’s event.
A report from WrestleVotes suggested WWE was gearing up for a major press event during Super Bowl weekend in New Orleans on Saturday, February 8, 2025—leading to speculation that the Big Easy could be in the running to host WrestleMania 42 in 2026.
However, Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp poured cold water on the rumors, revealing that WWE is outright denying the report.
“WWE reps immediately denied this,” Sapp said on Fightful’s Q&A. “So again, I relayed this to WrestleVotes, and they were adamant that their sources are saying as much, but WWE is denying it. Now, WWE could be lying, but that’s why I am telling you guys right now.”
The conflicting reports have left fans questioning what’s really going on. WWE has a history of keeping major announcements under wraps until the right moment, and with Super Bowl 59 taking place in New Orleans that weekend, the timing would make sense. The company held a similar press event in Las Vegas last year, ultimately revealing the city as the host for WrestleMania 41.
Whether WWE is trying to keep plans under wraps or if the report was premature remains to be seen. But with WrestleMania season heating up, it’s clear the company isn’t done making major moves just yet.
