WWE made a major creative decision ahead of the February 13 episode of SmackDown — and it changed how the entire show was structured.

Speaking during a Self Made Session on February 16, Self Made Pro revealed that a creative meeting was held before that week’s show with one clear directive — make sure everyone had something to do. He explained that the approach wasn’t random.

“I got told that at the last creative meeting, they had to go through every single roster member and give them something to do for SmackDown.”

According to the report, the result was a packed episode where nearly the entire active roster appeared in some capacity. Self Made Pro broke down examples from the show, including the likes of Apollo Crews being in a 10-man tag team match, Candice LeRae and Johnny Gargano in a backstage segment with Fraxiom.

“That’s why on this SmackDown, every active roster member—except The Street Profits—had something to do. Apollo Crews was in a 10-man match. Cardona was in a 10-man along with Melo and Ilja. Candice LeRae and Johnny Gargano did a backstage pre-tape with Fraxiom.”

He made it clear that the strategy extended across the board, not just for top stars: “Everybody had something to do. Aleister Black had a promo on Randy Orton. Everybody was involved.”

So it’s clear that WWE is actively trying to avoid talent sitting idle, at least on SmackDown, especially with WrestleMania 42 approaching. While it’s unclear whether this will become a consistent format, the February 13 episode appears to have been structured intentionally to maximize roster visibility.

Do you think WWE should regularly make sure every roster member appears on TV, or does that risk overcrowding the show? Let us know your thoughts below.
