IYO SKY could be heading toward one of the biggest matches of the year at WrestleMania 42 — and it may involve two familiar rivals.
After spending the early weeks of 2026 in the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship picture, SKY now appears to be shifting toward a big singles storyline heading into WWE’s biggest show of the year. The former champion had recently been involved in the tag title scene after defeating Asuka and Kairi Sane earlier this year, before eventually losing the titles to Lash Legend and Nia Jax. Now, a new report suggests WWE may already have big plans lined up for her at WrestleMania.
According to BodySlam.net on March 12, 2026, Sky is expected to reconnect with The Kabuki Warriors as the road to WrestleMania 42 continues. It was reported that WWE has deliberately avoided long stretches of in-ring interaction between Sky and Asuka in recent weeks because the company is currently planning a singles match between the two for WrestleMania.
However, the situation might not be completely finalized just yet. There has reportedly been internal discussion within WWE about turning the match into a triple threat by adding Kairi Sane to the bout. That potential change would bring together three competitors who already share a lot of history. SKY was feuding with Asuka and Kairi Sane throughout 2025 and the early months of 2026, making a WrestleMania match a natural continuation of their storyline.
With WrestleMania 42 just weeks away, all signs suggest SKY is heading toward a major match on the card — whether it ends up being a one-on-one bout with Asuka or a triple threat involving Kairi Sane. Either way, it looks like SKY’s feud with the Kabuki Warriors isn’t finished just yet.
Do you think IYO SKY vs Asuka should stay a singles match at WrestleMania 42, or would adding Kairi Sane make the match even bigger? Let us know your thoughts and leave your feedback below.
