John Cena is wrapping up a historic career, but he may not be finished with his title reigns. The Greatest of all Time only has a few dates left, and he’s going to make it count.

Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that there has been internal discussion about John Cena potentially defeating Dominik Mysterio for the Intercontinental Championship at Survivor Series. WWE Survivor Series will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Petco Park in San Diego, California.

It was noted that this would set up John Cena’s eventual final match in WWE. The idea would set up the title being on the line for a possible final match between Cena and Gunther. John Cena’s final match is scheduled for Saturday, December 13, 2025, at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

GUNTHER is poised to be a top name in WWE for a long time to come. If John Cena lost to the Ring General in his final match, then that would be an amazing passing of the torch moment, and a proper send-off for The Greatest of All Time.

John Cena’s last two matches had different outcomes. On September 20, 2025, at WWE Wrestlepalooza, Cena was defeated by Brock Lesnar. He returned to the ring on October 1, 2025, at WWE Crown Jewel in Perth, Australia, where he defeated AJ Styles.

Dominik Mysterio has done a great job holding onto the Intercontinental Title. He has used one underhanded trick after another to make sure that a loss doesn’t happen. If he does drop that belt to John Cena, then there are certainly worse ways to lose a title.
