WWE just dropped its biggest clue yet—and now fans are circling their calendars for April 25.
Another cryptic vignette aired during the April 18 episode of SmackDown, continuing the eerie, smoke-filled mystery that’s been playing out for weeks. This latest video added a final, unmistakable touch: “4.25.25” flashed on the screen, all but confirming the date for a major return.
While WWE hasn’t named names, fans are convinced these videos are teasing the return of Aleister Black. The visuals—dark corridors, flickering candles, serpents, and black coins—have all matched the unsettling aesthetic Black was known for before his 2021 departure. The first teaser appeared on SmackDown back on March 4, and they’ve only grown more intense since then.
Adding fuel to the theory is the fact that WWE aired a similar candlelit vignette on April 11, just moments before Zelina Vega—Black’s real-life wife—appeared on screen. That same episode also included the number 4 and the Roman numeral XXV, which fans correctly decoded as pointing to April 25.
If the speculation is true, the Dutch Destroyer could be returning just days after WrestleMania 41, making it one of the first major moves of WWE’s post-Mania season under Triple H’s creative direction.
Will Aleister Black finally get the push he never received on the main roster? Is WWE ready to bring back the darkness?
