WWE is kicking off 2026 with a fresh commentary shake-up — but don’t get too comfortable with the new teams just yet.
While PWInsider reports that Michael Cole and Corey Graves are returning to Monday Night RAW starting January 5, and Joe Tessitore will move to SmackDown with Wade Barrett on January 2, WWE has not officially confirmed these changes.
And now, Fightful Select is reporting that even more changes could be on the horizon due to Tessitore’s outside schedule. According to Fightful’s sources within WWE:
“There could be commentary changes due to Joe Tessitore finishing up college football obligations. We’re told by WWE sources that Tessitore will continue to have additional obligations, and commentary teams will naturally adjust when needed.”
Tessitore joined the RAW booth in September 2025, working alongside Barrett to accommodate his broadcasting duties during the college football season — including high-profile matchups like Tulane vs. Ole Miss on TNT Sports. WWE also quietly shuffled teams for the pre-taped December 19 SmackDown and December 22 RAW, signaling internal flexibility.
While the current plan mirrors the original early 2025 commentary setup, Fightful’s update makes it clear: nothing is set in stone. With Tessitore continuing to balance multiple commitments, WWE may once again rotate its announcers as needed.
