WWE Books Longtime Grudge Match For February 6 SmackDown

WWE’s schedule never stops. Just because the Royal Rumble is coming up in a matter of hours won’t stop them from booking something for next week’s show.

The January 30 episode of WWE SmackDown went down in Saudi Arabia. That was a fun show as the go-home after the Royal Rumble. Next week will officially start the road to WrestleMania 42, and we already have something to look forward to.

WWE Friday Night SmackDown on February 6, 2026, will take place at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Shinsuke Nakamura and Tama Tonga have a lot of history with each other, but that was mostly in NJPW. The two have had some run-ins with each other backstage in recent memory. During this week’s SmackDown, Tama suggested a Shinsuke Sayōnara tour, but Nakamura suggested they throw down next week instead.

We will undoubtedly see the fallout on SmackDown after the Royal Rumble. Only time will tell who is left pointing at the WrestleMania 42 sign in Saudi Arabia.
