WWE is officially returning to Japan this October with two nights of non-televised SuperShow action, set for Tokyo’s iconic Ryōgoku Kokugikan arena. This marks the company’s only scheduled stop in Japan for 2025 and brings back some major names, including one star who once questioned if he’d ever wrestle in the country again.
WWE SuperShow Japan will take place on October 17 and 18, delivering stacked cards featuring World Heavyweight Champion Gunther, World Tag Team Champions Finn Bálor & JD McDonagh, Rhea Ripley, Jey Uso, IYO SKY, AJ Styles, and The New Day—among others. WWE issued the official announcement confirming the return:
“WWE, part of TKO Group Holdings, today announced a return to Japan this October for back-to-back nights at the Ryōgoku Kokugikan in Tokyo on Friday, October 17 and Saturday, October 18. These will mark the only WWE events taking place in Japan in 2025.”
The company also confirmed that ticket sales, along with Superstar Meet & Greet packages, will go live on August 30 at 10am local time via the Lawson Ticket website. WWE fans across Japan can continue to catch weekly programming including Raw, SmackDown, and NXT on ABEMA platforms, with all Premium Live Events streaming live.
Of particular note is AJ Styles’ involvement, as the veteran previously suggested that his August 2024 tour of Japan might be his last time wrestling there. His inclusion for the 2025 SuperShow dates immediately caught fan attention.
“I don’t know if I’ll ever get to do this again,” Styles said after last year’s trip.
This announcement gives Japanese fans something to look forward to, especially with a stacked roster that includes international favorites and homegrown star IYO SKY, whose presence in Tokyo is sure to add something special to the event.
