Giulia wasted no time making her mark on WWE, and after her dominant performance on SmackDown in Saudi Arabia, it’s crystal clear—the company is grooming her to be one of their next major stars.

The June 27 episode of SmackDown, which hasn’t aired yet in the U.S., saw Giulia defeat Zelina Vega to become the new WWE Women’s United States Champion. The match wasn’t even close, with Giulia steamrolling Vega in what insiders described as a clear statement from WWE.

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez summed up how quickly Giulia handled business.

“SmackDown, Giulia did win the Women’s US title and just, I mean, just, just beat her. I mean, it was like just a short match. Dominated the match, hit her move, pinned her. She is the new United States champion.”

Dave Meltzer explained exactly why that happened—because Vega and Giulia aren’t even being viewed on the same level.

“If you’re slotting women stars, they’re not anywhere near the same level.”

Meltzer added that while Vega’s title run was more about rewarding tenure, Giulia’s push is about building a top-tier attraction.

“Vega was, you know, one of those, you know, to give people belts to give people belts, right? But they’re not serious about them at that level… Giulia is like someone who they’re grooming to be like one of the top stars.”

WWE sent a loud message on SmackDown — Giulia isn’t here to blend in, she’s here to take over. From her dominant NXT run to steamrolling Zelina Vega for her first main roster title, it’s obvious the company sees dollar signs all over her future. This wasn’t just a quick win — it was WWE planting their flag and making sure everyone knows exactly where Giulia stands.
