WWE didn’t want fans hijacking the show for Karrion Kross.
It appears that Karrion Kross’ time in WWE has come to an end. His contract expired on August 10, and he seemed to have wrapped up his run with a pair of losses to Sami Zayn.
Karrion Kross uploaded a new video on his YouTube channel. During that documentary, he took fans on a walk through his SummerSlam 2025 program with Sami Zayn. Going into the match, Kross had some interesting momentum with his storyline. That being said, he also lost at Night of Champions to Zayn, but WWE was apparently concerned that fans wouldn’t like that.
“At Night of Champions, I was told that the key is that the crowd’s reaction falls in line with the story. I told them not to worry, because I would do my job as a bad guy. They were so worried that the crowd was gonna boo when I lost.”
Kross said that fans didn’t overreact when he lost at SummerSlam or Night of Champions. Others may have been tense about the idea of fans revolting, but he remained chill about it. In the end, Kross believes that he did his job to bring the best match possible, despite the result.
The former NXT Champion admitted that he was afraid of getting booed. As chants of “We Want Kross” rang out from fans, the company didn’t sign him to a new deal, something that he admitted that left him angry after he had a non-serious conversation with them about his new deal.
Karrion Kross’ time in WWE may be at an end, but there is always the possibility that he could circle back around to the company. Only time will tell what the future holds for him, but that connection with the fans will likely stay strong for years to come.
