WWE has expanded the lineup for the March 13 episode of SmackDown as the road to WrestleMania 42 continues to take shape.
The company confirmed two additional matches for Friday night’s show, including a championship bout involving the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles.
WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Nia Jax and Lash Legend will put their titles on the line against Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair. The matchup adds another major women’s storyline to SmackDown just weeks before WrestleMania 42.
Another newly announced bout will feature Solo Sikoa teaming with Tama Tonga to take on Uncle Howdy and Erick Rowan. The match brings together two very different factions and could carry larger implications depending on how the situation unfolds.
These additions join several segments that were already announced for the March 13 broadcast.
A contract signing is scheduled between Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton ahead of their WWE Championship match at WrestleMania 42. With tensions building between the two stars, the segment could set the tone for their upcoming showdown.
Jade Cargill is also set to compete against Michin in singles action. Meanwhile, Miz TV will return with country music star Jelly Roll appearing as the special guest.
The March 13 episode of SmackDown will take place at the Mortgage Matchup Center in Phoenix, Arizona.
With WrestleMania 42 just around the corner, SmackDown continues stacking its shows with major segments and matches.
