WrestleMania 42 might be breaking new ground—literally.

Just months after The Rock helped unveil New Orleans as the host city for WrestleMania 2026, WWE has officially pulled the event from the Big Easy. But now the conversation has shifted to something even bigger: WWE insiders believe WrestleMania 42 could take place outside of the United States and Canada altogether.

According to PWInsider Elite, multiple sources within WWE now expect WrestleMania 42 to land in an international market. While there’s no official confirmation yet, London remains a strong contender, especially after WWE’s meeting with the city’s mayor last year. There’s also speculation that Mexico could host a major WWE show soon—making it another possible destination for the company’s biggest event of the year.

The original WrestleMania 42 plan called for April 11 and 12, 2026, at the Superdome in New Orleans. That plan was scrapped quietly, with the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation issuing a joint statement with WWE: “WrestleMania – which will move from the currently scheduled 2026 timeframe to a future year.”

While the foundation didn’t explain why the change happened, the financial side likely played a role. WWE has been raking in millions from host cities in site fees—Las Vegas paid $5 million for WrestleMania 41, and New Jersey is shelling out $7.1 million for this year’s SummerSlam. If a major international city is willing to top that, WWE could be ready to take WrestleMania global.

For now, New Orleans fans can still look forward to Money in the Bank in 2026, part of a new multi-year deal between TKO and local organizers. UFC 318 is also booked for July 2025 at the Smoothie King Center.

But the real question is where WWE’s biggest event will land next.
