Will Ospreay wants to run it back with AJ Styles—and this time, he wants it on his turf. The AEW star sat down with 3NT Wrestling and didn’t hesitate to call out the WWE legend with one clear demand: leave WWE and meet him in AEW.
When asked to name five wrestlers he’d love to face—dead or alive—Ospreay rattled off a list of icons, including three Japanese legends.
“Dead or alive. Masala’s one of them. Kawada’s one of them. Hayabusa, the original. I would actually love to wrestle the new Hayabusa as well.”
Then, the conversation shifted toward a rivalry that fans have been itching to see revisited for nearly a decade: Will Ospreay vs. AJ Styles.
Ospreay and Styles originally clashed back in 2015 at RevPro High Stakes, but Ospreay believes the rematch would be a completely different story now.
“Look, I’ve already done it before, but like, I’m different now. I’m so different. I’m a grown-ass flipping man. I want AJ Styles. Quit your job, AJ.”
There’s no doubt Ospreay still respects Styles—he’s openly talked about idolizing him and even adopted the Styles Clash as a signature move in AEW—but that admiration has evolved into something else entirely. Now, he wants to test himself against the man he once looked up to, not as a fan, but as a peer.
“I want AJ Styles. Quit your job, AJ.”
While fans are hyped at the idea, there’s one major obstacle—AJ Styles has made it clear in the past that he plans to finish his career in WWE. Still, with Ospreay’s rise in AEW and Styles’ history of jumping promotions before, the door isn’t completely closed.
