Will Ospreay isn’t ready to give up his iconic entrance theme just yet.
During a recent interview with Daily Star, the AEW star revealed that wrestling theme music artists Downstait — known for crafting Cody Rhodes’s entrance song — recently offered to create a new theme for him. But Ospreay isn’t interested in changing things up.
“No, Elevated rocks the house,” Ospreay said, making it clear that he’s sticking with the track that’s become synonymous with his in-ring persona. He then shared a wild encounter that took place on the Jericho Cruise. “I got a story for you, actually. So like, I was on the Jericho Cruise, and the guys that sang Cody Rhodes’s song, they approached me. Well, not them, like one dude in particular. I don’t even know if he’s actually part of the band, but he was drunk out of his mind. It was just like, if you ever need a theme song, let us know. We’re approachable. Wow ballsy!”
Despite the bold offer, Ospreay turned it down, saying, “I’m good, mate. You do great stuff. Love your work. But I love Elevated too much.”
Outside the ring, Ospreay’s taste in music might surprise fans. He’s been diving into country tunes lately, something he didn’t see coming. “So honestly, I’ve been really into country music, right? Mate, it’s caught me by surprise,” Ospreay admitted. “Morgan Wallen, Chris Stapleton, Alabama, a bunch of country music these days. But other than that, nothing makes me happier in life than a bit of Purple Disco Machine. Their beats, their tunes always put me in a good mood. It just fills me with good memories.”
Will Ospreay isn’t letting go of Elevated anytime soon, even with Downstait making a bold pitch for a new theme. For now, the AEW star is keeping things exactly as they are, sticking with the track that’s become a staple of his entrance and shutting down any talk of a change.
