Will Ospreay isn’t backing down, and apparently, neither is his body.
After AEW fans speculated that The Aerial Assassin might be dealing with a legit hip injury following recent matches, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select stepped in to put those rumors to bed. During a recent Q&A, Sapp was directly asked if Ospreay’s injury was legit or part of the show—and he didn’t mince words.
“He’s working, brother,” Sapp said. “He’s naturally beat up from the things that his style causes, but everyone we spoke to said he was fine afterwards.”
That’s right—despite the brutal pace Ospreay keeps in the ring and the transatlantic flights he juggles every week, the hip issue isn’t something AEW is seriously worried about. It’s all part of the performance, and the man known for redefining high-risk wrestling is still going full throttle.
Ospreay’s grind is well-documented. He’s aiming for the AEW World Championship at All In: Texas, entering the Owen Hart Cup, and still manages to fly back to the U.K. every week to be with his family. His recent travel nightmare—where his flight to London had to turn around mid-air due to a fire near Heathrow—left him stranded in Boston and emotionally drained.
But while his travel plans got derailed, the rumor mill just got derailed even harder. Ospreay is healthy, focused, and laser-locked on AEW gold. The hip story? Just part of the act.
