Will Ospreay has been an official part of the AEW family for over a year and he’s always ready to be the company’s flag bearer and that’s why it comes as no surprise that Ospreay has claimed that AEW is on WWE’s tail after just six years.

While speaking to 3NT Wrestling, Will Ospreay was asked if he gets tired of talking about AEW and being compared to WWE. He made it clear he doesn’t mind the comparisons at all. Ospreay understands why people make comparisons because wrestling has always been about comparing companies, especially since WWE has been the biggest for many years.

However, Ospreay said AEW has been around for six years now and is now on WWE’s tail and despite what anyone else says, Ospreay definitely believes AEW is catching up to WWE.

“Yo, I’ll be honest with you — no. I’ll be brutally honest with you. Anytime people make comparisons, I understand. Because we’re in a constant comparison sport. WWE has been the heads of the heads for generations upon generations.

Bro — we’re here. We’ve been here for six years, and we’re on their tail. No matter what anyone says, we are on their tail.”

The Aerial Assassin also said that WWE is very good at what they do since they fill big arenas and are on fire, but when it comes to the in-ring product, he doesn’t think WWE can match AEW.

“But when it comes right down to it — I will scream this from the top of my lungs — they are great at what they do. They are filling houses. They are on fire. But when the bell rings? Are you as good as us? No.”

This comes after Will Ospreay recently claimed that AEW outshines WWE in every aspect of professional wrestling, despite WWE having the likes of Randy Orton and GUNTHER.

Will Ospreay’s belief that AEW is “on their tail” after six years shows how confident he is about AEW’s current growth. Regardless, we’ll have to wait and see if there will ever come a time where AEW is actually comparable to WWE in size as that might still take a long time to happen.
