Will Ospreay has been taking time off after AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door so that he can undergo surgery. A few weeks removed from the show, Ospreay has now confirmed he underwent successful surgery.
Will Ospreay announced on Twitter that his surgery was successful and that he is now focused on recovery. He stated that the road back will take time but promised fans it will be worth it when he returns to the ring, saying, “The road will be long, but it’ll be worth it to see you all again. Surgery was a success.”
Ospreay’s final match before the break took place at Forbidden Door on August 24, where he was part of the winning team in the brutal Lights Out Steel Cage main event. After the match, Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli launched a vicious attack on him as he was written off television.
This comes after Will Ospreay admitted he might have to scale back on his high-flying moves after surgery. Ospreay’s neck surgery marks an important turning point in his career, as it may change how he wrestles in the future.
Will Ospreay’s successful surgery is great news for AEW fans everywhere. His dedication to recovery and readiness to adapt as a performer show both his love for wrestling and his focus on staying healthy. So we’ll have to see when he will return to in-ring action as it will take a while.
