If you’ve noticed something different about WWE NXT’s premium live events lately, you’re not alone. WWE has quietly removed all NXT branding from its promotional materials, making shows like Vengeance Day and the upcoming Roadblock appear as just WWE events—despite featuring NXT talent, titles, and storylines.

This shift dates back to Halloween Havoc 2024, when WWE stopped explicitly marketing these events as NXT-branded. According to Fightful Select, this isn’t some secret plan to phase out NXT but rather a marketing decision. WWE believes that pushing these events under the broader WWE banner makes them feel bigger and could bring in more interest from casual fans.

There’s no confirmation yet on whether this branding shift has affected viewership for NXT’s premium live events, but WWE is doubling down on the move. With NXT’s transition to The CW in late 2024, the brand has been getting a stylistic overhaul, pushing it even closer to being seen as WWE’s official third brand instead of just a developmental system.

Longtime fans remember when NXT TakeOver events were some of the most must-see WWE shows, delivering classics during the black-and-gold era. However, after NXT shifted back to a developmental focus during the divisive 2.0 era, the brand has slowly been rebuilding its reputation. WWE now seems to think that stripping away the “NXT” label for premium live events will help solidify its place alongside Raw and SmackDown.
