WWE Monday Night Raw is set to roll into the Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana on September 22nd, but fans expecting to hear Alicia Taylor’s voice will be in for a surprise. WWE is making a one-night-only change to the ring announcer lineup — and here’s why.

Alicia Taylor took to social media and revealed she’s taking the night off, confirming that WWE veteran Lilian Garcia will be stepping in to handle ring announcing duties. Alongside a selfie with Garcia, Taylor gave fans the update directly.

“Tagging in @LilianGarcia 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Thanks for holding down #RAW tomorrow!” When a fan asked if she’d be back, Taylor was quick to calm any concerns. “💯 day off!”

The move isn’t part of any bigger change to the commentary team or long-term shake-up. It’s simply a scheduled night off for Taylor — something rare for WWE on-air talent — and WWE saw the perfect opportunity to bring in one of their most iconic voices to fill in.

Lilian Garcia, who stepped away from full-time announcing earlier this year, is still used for special events and appearances. Known for her emotional delivery and crowd connection, Garcia stepping in ensures the show’s energy stays high in Evansville.

While Alicia Taylor will be back as usual following this episode, Garcia’s appearance adds an extra spark to what’s already expected to be a solid night for the red brand.

Do you think Lilian Garcia should make more appearances on WWE TV? Are you happy with Alicia Taylor as Raw’s full-time voice? Drop your thoughts below.
